“We cannot build a movement if we do not figure out how to make leadership development available
to everyone. And, if we are to build a diverse movement then the fact that we come from
and have unequal resources has to be addressed.” Spirit in Action
THE COST OF THE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
We are committed to making leadership development available for everyone who wants it.
In order to do that, we are trying out new ways to cover the cost of the program - ways that are fair to people who cannot afford to pay, to people who can afford to pay, and to Spirit in Action. We struggle with hard questions like:
How do we make our program available to everyone?
How do we create new ways for paying for our program in a consumer culture
not known for its generosity?
What is each person’s fair share?
The cost of the program
Actual cost = $1,732.00
Room & Board
We need people to pay for their food and lodging for the 5 days = $532.
As soon as you decide you are coming – please send us a check (in the memo write:
Housing/Pendle Hill) or use the PayPal option on our website.
A limited number of scholarships are available. Please call Pamela: 215-844-7566.
Leadership Program
During the training, you will be asked to pay as much as you can to cover the cost of the
program (the five-day training, the follow-up leadership support, etc). = $1,200.
Again, you can pay by check or use the PayPal option on our website.
Figuring out what you should pay for the program
We do need everyone to pay something. And, we will accept whatever you decide you can pay.
We know that you will give your fair share and that you will give it from your heart.
For those of you who are able to pay more than the cost – we consider that to be your fair share. Others of you will pay less than the cost – and we hope your worries about money will not stop you from coming. We can do this! We don’t want to leave anyone behind – especially now when the work before us is greater and the money available is smaller.
Figuring out how you can pay
You can think differently about money. Try fund-raising. Ask organizations you work for or volunteer for to help support your leadership development. Think about talking to friends and family too. You are also welcome make monthly payments instead of making one large one.
Making it possible for others
If you are interested in making a contribution to support another leader who would like to come to the program but cannot afford to, please speak to Pamela at 215-844-7566.
Thank you for helping us to think outside the box!
